Buying Psa Graded Baseball Cards At Auction
In the world of the baseball card hobby, there are literally hundreds of thousands of different types of cards you can buy. Perhaps you are a player collector and are willing to pay extra for rare cards of your favorite player. Maybe you are a team collector and seek only cards featuring players from a certain team. Some collectors are more like dealers and seek to buy and sell cards quickly to make a profit.

PSA is a company that grades sports cards of all sizes and shapes. They grade cards on a scale of 1-10 in .5 point increments with 10 being the best. Grading a card gives it a standarized, industry accepted value. A PSA grade of 7 is universally accepted whereas a dealer’s impression of a cards grade might be better or worse than somebody else.
Buying graded cards is a good investment because these cards tend to retain their value longer and hold a higher value than their ungraded counterparts. Also, grading a card allows you to protect it from the elements and also register it in a population database so you know how many cards just like yours have been graded before in the same, worse or better condition.
Traditional auction sites are a great source for PSA graded baseball cards. New auction formats such as penny auction sites offer an arguably more exciting way to win PSA graded cards at an online auction. Try out each type of auction format and decide for yourself because ultimately it is your collection and your money! When buying PSA graded cards, it is recommended to buy cards of all-time great and/or Hall of Famers.
